Say "Hey!" Sports Fans!

Say hey sports fans, there are lots of kudos to pass out this week. Calhoun's and Sonoraville's volleyball teams both won 1st round state tourney matches and are playing in the sweet 16 this week...atta girls. It was a huge week for region 6-AAA in softball as all 4 teams advanced to the sweet 16...hence the talk for years that NW Georgia plays the best softball in Georgia. Chad Hayes's Lady Phoenix swept at #1 Lovett 2-0 and 7-0. The girls will travel to Madison this Wednesday to play Morgan county. Diane Smith's Lady Jackets swept an inexperienced Cedar Grove team 19-0 and 16-0 last Wednesday at Lady Jacket Stadium, both games only going 3 innings because of the mercy rule. Calhoun will host Franklin County's Lady Lions this Wednesday...join Ronnie Reeves and me at 4:45 for pre-game with the 1st pitch at 5:00. Both series will be doubleheaders on Wednesday and the if game on Thursday. Denver Pate's Phoenix footballers lost to Adairsville 35-25 on senior night at the Furnace last Friday. The injury bug has hit Sonoraville hard... over a third of Sonoraville's seniors are not likely to play again this season. The Phoenix travel to Calhoun this Friday, 10/20, for an intra-county match-up. Join Todd Holbert and me at 7:00 for pre-game and 7:30 for the kickoff. How about those Warriors! Coach Nix's boys defeated visiting Armuchee last Friday 29-22. The game went back and forth with Armuchee tying the score at 22 all with about 3 minutes left in the game. Big Blue responded with the winning TD drive and the extra point to clinch their 1st victory of the season...atta boys.Call our professional sales staff at 706-629-1110 and join our broadcast team and help us bring all the live action of regular season and state touney action to your favorite listening device...see you on the radio..."The Voice", Dave Stokes
